Why Does the Wolf Oven Fan Keep Running After It Is Off?
The short answer
A fan that carries on after the oven is switched off is the cooling fan, and it is meant to. It is pulling the last of the heat out of the cabinet. The question is whether it ever stops. Wolf Appliance Repair Denver takes the ones that never stop seriously: (720) 807-8323.
Why it does that
Two fans live in a built-in oven and they do unrelated jobs. The convection fan moves air inside the cavity and stops when the cooking does. The cooling fan works outside it, drawing room air around the case and sending it out through the vent in the trim, and it keeps going until the structure around the cavity has cooled. A tight joinery column holds that heat longer than a bench, so the run-on is more obvious in a fitted kitchen than people expect.
When it stops being normal
Two versions of this complaint point in different directions. One runs a long stretch after a bake and then goes quiet, which is the column taking its time. The other starts the moment power reaches the appliance, or never stops while the breaker is on. That one is not answering to heat, so what gets checked is whatever is telling it to run.
When it is a repair
What it turns out to be Parts and labour
- Convection fan or motor
- $290–$660 Convection fan or motor
- Control board or touch panel
- $450–$860 Control board or touch panel
Ranges, not starting prices — what moves inside one is the part and how far the oven has to come out of its column. The $89 diagnosis comes off the figure once you approve it.
